Except revised suspension and braking system, body styling and other features in the current generation Dodge Nitro remain same. The key features in the model include ample cargo space and high acceleration. Dodge Nitro Yakima racks are associated with the factory luggage carrier, which provides more cargo space. Trims

The mid-sized sport utility vehicle is designed and produced based on Jeep Liberty model. When compared in size, 2009 Nitro model is smaller than Dodge Durango version. For 2009, Dodge Nitro is offered in three trim versions, the base model SE, SLT and up-level R/T models. The advanced features equipped in the Nitro model include navigation system with real time traffic information, Dodge Nitro Yakima racks, air conditioning with auto climate control, satellite radio, power steering, power doors and locks, and leather upholstery.

Engine

Power to the SLT and SE versions come from 3.7 liter V6 engine that delivers 210 hp and it is mated to 4-speed automatic transmission. The other model comes powered by 4.0 liter V6 engine that pairs with 5-speed automatic transmission. The current generation Dodge Nitro model has the maximum towing capacity of 5000 lbs.
