Basics

The manual clearly indicates that the capacity of gearbox is 3.8 liters. Hence, during the transmission modification, the gear box can takes only 3.5 liters. To do this, it is suggested that the car should be in on state for ten minutes to heat up the transaxle.

Simple Steps to Change Manual Transmission on Dodge Nitro

Coming to steps, detach the air box for easier access. Detach the plastic under vehicle 1 x Phillips head plastic clips and car tray – 9 x 10mm bots. At the back side, the trey has two locater tongues.

Equipments Required

To fix the transaxle one should need plastic hose of length 70 cm, a metal or plastic funnel, which can slide into one edge of plastic hose, and a plastic nozzle of any type connected at the supplementary edge of the hose.

Procedure

Keep the nozzle in the filler hole. Detach the funnel and filler hose and re-fix with the 23mm hex filler bolt. Put back the plastic beneath the body. Place back the air box and its vacuum and electrical hose connectors. Leave the car for about one hour and after drive it to feel the difference.
