Trims
When compared with the Dodge’s Durango, the 2008 Dodge Nitro is smaller in overall length. It has the seating capacity to accommodate up to 5-passengers. For 2008, the Nitro model is offered in three trim versions, the SXT, R/T and SLT. Production of base model has been discontinued for 2008. All the versions are offered in rear wheel drive and it has the capacity to tow up to maximum of 5000 lbs.

The standard safety features in the 2008 Dodge Nitro model include traction control, curtain side air bags, front side air bags, antilock braking system, electronic stability program and rear view camera, while it offers DVD entertainment system, MyGIG multimedia system with 20GB hard drive, navigation system and wireless cell phone link as optional.
Engine
The standard engine to the 2008 Dodge Nitro model include a 3.7 liter SOHC V6 version that delivers power up to 210 hp and torque of 235 lb ft and the engine is mated to 6-speed manual transmission, while it also offers 5-speed automatic transmission as optional.
